Former CA-16 Candidates Endorse Sam Liccardo
Majority of Primary Candidates Endorse Frontrunner
SAN JOSE, CA — Today, six former candidates for Congress in CA-16 endorsed former San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo. This further bolsters Liccardo after recent public polling shows him with a +17% lead on an initial ballot.
When combined with Liccardo’s primary vote total, the candidates won nearly 60% of the primary vote.
Peter Ohtaki: “Congress is so polarized it’s dysfunctional. We need a leader willing to work across the aisle to get things done. Sam listens and finds common ground to solve problems. That can’t be said for both candidates.”
Peter Dixon: “I first got to know Sam debating him on the campaign trail. Through our many conversations, I came to understand the kind of leader Sam is—deeply principled, detailed on policy, and fundamentally motivated by the people he serves. In these turbulent times, Sam is the candidate for Congress with the experience our district needs and deserves.”
Julie Lythcott-Haims: “As a progressive, I know we need leaders that have the courage to stand up to big oil and gas, big pharma, and private prisons. Sam Liccardo has a record of standing up for working people, respecting our election laws, and getting things done for our community. I’m proud to endorse his campaign.”
